The Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality invites prospective bidders for the buying of vacant land in Alice for residential purposes as per Council Resolution 80/2020. We have 97 un-serviced sites for sale and we are currently selling all stands off site (On the map layout). Bids below the market value will not be accepted. The minimum market value is R44 000.00.
The municipality has an obligation to a process that is fair, equitable, transparent and competitive in consistence with the MFMA section 14 (2) and Municipal Supply Chain Policy
The following are the specifics to be considered by the prospective bidder:
- The sites are sold “Voetstoots”, in the condition they currently stand
- The stands are all zoned residential and are strictly for residential purposes
- The successful bidder will be responsible for the registration and transfer costs
- To increase local participation, we are allowing a maximum of two stands per person to avoid bulk buying. Anyone found to be fronting will be penalized and the sale will be cancelled
- Residents who do not own residential property within the area of jurisdiction of Raymond Mhlaba are particularly encouraged to apply
- Due to the current Corona Virus Pandemic we are selling stands directly form the plan
- Bidders must gather as much information about the property before bidding

Completed bid documents are to be placed in a sealed envelope endorsed the relevant bid and must be deposited in the Bid Box at the Budget and Treasury Office: Corner of Campbell and Market Street, Fort Beaufort Town Hall, 5720, not later than 12h00pm on 16 March 2021.
