Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality is in the process of establishing Ward Committees. Ward Committees are politically neutral committees of the Municipality, and their establishment is to give effect to Section 152 (1)(e) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, (Act 108 of 1996) read together with part 4 of the Municipal Structures Act 117 of 1998.
This process will take effect from 1st February 2022 – 2nd March 2022. There are 23 wards that constitute the municipality and for each ward, ten (10) ward committee members will be elected.
